In the past, black friday was a big deal. People would stand outside in the cold in order to get into the stores first. Now, the internet and the wide options for getting stuff might have taken the temperature down. Are you going to wait outside in the cold just to get a low priced tv? There are so many brands of tv that can be purchased online that don’t break the bank.
The old black friday videos on youtube might showcase all of the chaos. People would really go to all types of lengths to make it out of the store with the sale items. People might watch the mail for the black friday flyers and check online for when the black friday deals would be released.
Picking up a big screen tv on a black friday deal really felt like winning. Waking up early in the morning with hopes of landing a deal might be met with the reality that you were just too slow. Some of the shoppers might luck out by going to the stores that were not the big box stores. The office supply stores like office max / office depot might have some stuff that was still a great deal.
The internet has really changed the game. The places that people use to go are not really around as much. You might see the abandoned mall videos on youtube. It is crazy to look up and see that the malls from the recent past are shutting down. It just goes to show the power of the internet. Viewing the online inventory of products takes that game to another level.
Are people going to run into the stores to get the onn tv black friday sale? They might not care as much. Some people might still be wrapped up on the tv brands, but now, it might not make much of a difference.
