Some of the topics online are going to be evergreen.  When you think about computers, one of the ways to communicate is through email.  Electronic mail has been around for a long time and it is just a part of the web.

Do you remember your first email address?  Are you constantly checking your email today?  Typing emails and hitting the send button is a common practice online.  The internet has come a long way from being focused on written text.

Staying in contact through email is still a good way to communicate.  There is real power in setting up your own email list.  If you land on any of the big websites, they are probably going to have a newsletter or a mailing list to stay in contact.

When you think about email, you might have a few names that come to mind.  Do you have a gmail account, yahoo mail account or even an old hotmail account?  There are plenty of distractions online and your email address might be a way to stay plugged into the information that you want.  Opening up your email inbox and noticing a message from a store that you purchased items from in the past might lead to making another purchase.  It is very easy to forget about some of the people and businesses that you have interacted with in the past.

Companies already know that it is important to get the email address from potential customers.  You might see the newsletter sign up form when you first land on the company homepage.  Giving potential customers a free ebook or something else of value might be the reason for them adding their email to the list.

There are lots of areas of focus when it comes to the online space.  Some people might look past some of the early features.  Email is still important.  Phone numbers are another way to stay in contact, but email should not be ignored.
