Come Up With Basic Plans
Power outages can happen from time to time. What do you do when the lights don’t turn on. You might be at your computer typing and then you hear the sound and then your computer is blank. What do you do?
If there is still daylight, you might not worry too much. It does seem different when you don’t have the power on. It just seems more quiet. Are you the only one with the power off? You might wonder how big the power outage is. You quickly realize how much you depend on the internet. You can’t just turn on your phone and get internet? Or can you? Your cell phone data plan might still work.
What if the sun is already down and it is dark outside? You might have to try to quickly remember where you supplies are placed. Where are the batteries? Where is the flashlight? Trying to walk around the house without the lights on can turn into an adventure.
Have you prepared for situations like this? Do you have candles? Do you have matches? In those moments when things like this are taking place, you might wish that you had planned ahead. Some people do take the time to think ahead and plan.
Hopefully, the lights won’t be off for too long. What if they do stay off for a while? Do you have food that you can eat? Do you have a way to communicate and have lights?
Everyone should do a basic plan for when things don’t go as planned. It could be important to spend a little bit of time putting something into place.
Don’t just create a plan and forget it. Practice from time to time and make sure that you know where you put items. Check your items to make sure that they function regularly.
